Characteristics

Evergreen conifer, with long, beautiful bright green needles collected in pairs. Grey bark cracking into plaques. Fast growth. Candle-shaped shoots appearing in March/April.

Care

It prefers sunny and ventilated positions, with well-drained but humid growing soil. Spring fertilization with slow-release organic fertilizer, alternating with a chemical one. In winter carry out an insecticide treatment with mineral white oil.

Pruning

In May, prune the new candle shoots to make them homogeneous, then in July pinch off the new growth to allow the plant to vegetate again with shorter needles. In winter, remove old needles, leaving only those from the new year.
